WELCOME TO SCAPLAS 2022 IN REYKJAVIK, ICELAND
Welcome
It is our pleasure to announce the 38th Congress of the Scandinavian Association of Plastic Surgeons – SCAPLAS, taking place in Reykjavík, Iceland, 13 – 15 June 2022. The 10th Nordic Congress of Nurses in Plastic Surgery will be a part of the Congress and take place 13 – 14 June 2022. The 17th Nordic Burn Meeting will be held 12 – 13 June 2022, in conjunction with the Congress.
We will be celebrating 70 years anniversary of SCAPLAS (1951-2021)!
This is a plastic surgery-focused congress that brings surgeons, nurses, and residents together from the Nordic Countries? and beyond. The congress will not only connect plastic surgeons and nurses professionally from these countries, but also will help forge and reinforce friendships that can last throughout our careers. The Congress will be held in Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre that is located in the heart of Reykjavik, overlooking the Faxaflói bay and Mount Esja. It is close to most of the Congress hotels, art galleries, shopping areas and restaurants.
June – Iceland’s month of “the midnight sun” – is a wondrous time for a visit. We will offer various excursions hoping participants will use this opportunity to take time to enjoy the unique nature of Iceland as well as shape the future of plastic surgery together!
We are looking forward to seeing you in Iceland!

Nessie. Champ. Gryttie. Lagarfljót Worm!? These are just some of the sea/lake monsters that have been seen around the world. 😯 The latter is a giant worm monster reportedly seen in Lagarfljót, a 140 km long river near Egilsstaðir in @visitausturland. With depths of 112 m, this murky river is shrouded in legend and is home to the monster. Seeing its curved form breaching the waters was considered a bad omen. #inspiredbyiceland
